About Skin Tag Removal
Skin tags are small, soft pieces of skin that stick out on a stem. They are often the same colour as your skin. They often grow in the areas that have skin folds like, eyelids, neck, armpit, and groin. Skin tags are not moles and usually are non-cancerous.
Skin tags can be removed both for your comfort or cosmetics reasons.
Removal methods include:
- Cutting or shaving them off
- Laser removal
- Extreme cold gas (liquid nitrogen), also known as cryotherapy.
- Heat removal (cauterization)

No. Unlike warts, skin tags don’t spread to other parts of the body or to other people, even through direct contact.
What happens if I don’t treat Skin Tags?
If you do not treat them, they stay where they are. They may increase in number but are harmless.
Will they come back after removal?
It is possible that skin tags will reoccur in the same place they were removed but they may also occur in other areas of the body.
